I’m an undergraduate Game Development major at the Savannah College of Art and Design. I’m originally from Carrollton, GA, but I moved to Savannah to study the intricacies of game development at SCAD. I have since been drawn to 3D evnironment art and props, and hope to one day work for Valve. Inspired by developers like Hidetaka Miyazaki, creator of Dark Souls and Elden Ring, I want to create etherial experiences for players that allows the truths of those worlds to speak without words.
Aside from that, I also want to become an advocate for women in STEM. I see so little women in my field and even more being pushed out of the gaming community. Cozier games, like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, with a prominent audience of women and girls, are regarded as “not real games.” As a young woman who aspires to become a voice in this industry, I hope to change that mindset.
